As men we are taught to go it alone. As boys we learn early to keep in control, to maintain invulnerability, to numb feeling and deny needs. We are forced to disconnect too early from our mothers and are left in a relationship limbo because of an emotionally absent father. Because of this we have difficulty making deep connections with significant people in our lives who can bring meaning, identity, and fulfillment.
At this evening workshop we will focus on recognizing and understanding specific obstacles to fulfilling relationships; exploring the qualities and skills necessary to create meaningful and satisfying relationships; and listening to the experience and wisdom of the men attending this evening.
